- Prior to the first day of class: You will receive information from your instructor by email on how to get started in your online class. This message is sent to your University of Illinois email account. Contact your instructor if you do not receive this email before the start date of the class.
- Determine your Learning Management System: Your online learning environment at the University of Illinois environment consists of a learning management system (LMS). The LMS provides online access to your course syllabus, schedule, assignments, discussion board, and grades. The University of Illinois supports Illinois Compass 2G and Learn@Illinois Moodle Service depending upon your specific situation or online course. Information on the type of LMS your class uses is sent to your University of Illinois email account prior to the first day of class.
