    • You may register for Summer 2024 courses according to your assigned time ticket. Priority time tickets will be available on March 18, priority registration opens April 1, and open registration begins April 18.
    • Please note: Be sure to contact your College or Department Office with questions on adding or dropping a Summer Session 2022 online class.

Steps to Success in an Online Class at the University of Illinois

Illinois Online and The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s promise to you is to provide a positive, rewarding and high-quality online learning experience. To be successful in your online learning environment at the University of Illinois, review the following information prior to the class start date:

  1. Confirm that your computer meets the technical requirements for online learning.
  2. Order textbooks (if applicable)
  3. Watch for an online course orientation email. Prior to the first day of class, you should receive an email from your instructor with information about the Learning Management System (CanvasLearn@Illinois Moodle Service, etc.) and how to get started in your online class. The email will be sent to your University of Illinois email account. Contact your instructor directly if you do not receive this email before the start date of the class.
  4. Check out the Illinois Online blog for helpful information about how to be successful in an online class.
  5. If you need assistance viewing the online course, experience technical difficulties or require help with course related questions, contact your instructor by email.
