If so, RST594PD: Park Planning and Design is the course for you! Put your design, technical, and planning oriented skills to work with this graduate level, 8-week, online course. The course counts as 4 credit hours towards those seeking an Online Master of Science in Recreation, Sport & Tourism degree; yet, it can also be taken by non-degree seeking students.

RST594PD is divided into three modules: 1. Understanding Parks: Design Considerations, 2. An Integrated Picture: Site Inventory and Analysis, 3. Application Framework: Design and Implementation. The course consists of readings, individual posts, replies to peers, and group work. It will be completed by writing a final essay. Whether managing a park, planning a park, constructing a park, or simply critiquing and approving park plans, this course will provide the framework for understanding how to design parks that foster social interaction, build community, encourage healthy lifestyles, and safeguard the environment.
