Health technology is transforming how people access, monitor, and manage their well-being — and the demand for skilled professionals who can design and build these innovations is rapidly growing. The Master of Science in Health Technology (MSHT) will prepare the next generation of leaders who will shape this future through human-centered, data-driven and technology-forward design.
Offered through a unique collaboration between the College of Applied Health Sciences and The Grainger College of Engineering, this one-year, STEM-designated master’s program blends expertise in health, engineering, and user experience to provide an interdisciplinary foundation for applied innovation.
Students will gain hands-on training in:
- Human factors and user-centered design
- User interface and user experience (UI/UX)
- Health technology software and hardware engineering
- Applied research and product development in health innovation
The program emphasizes the full development pipeline — from identifying user needs to designing, prototyping, and testing technology solutions that improve health outcomes and quality of life.
Graduates of the MS in Health Technology program are prepared for impactful careers in:
- Health technology design and development
- UX research and design for medical and wellness applications
- Product management and innovation strategy
- Biomedical device and wearable technology industries
