Summer Session 2026
The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is offering more than 500 online course sections in multiple subject areas over the summer break.
Need to stay on track or get ahead for graduation? Are you working at an internship this summer? Want to take challenging, high-demand courses in an online format from anywhere in the world?
The Summer Session online term offers you an opportunity to continue your education, persist toward graduation and learn valuable skills such as time management and goal setting. Courses are taught by Illinois faculty and are offered to University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign undergraduate students and non-degree students from around the globe.
Also, we invite students enrolled at other institutions to join us for Summer Session.

- You may register for Summer 2026 courses according to your assigned time ticket. Priority time tickets will be available on March 24, priority registration opens April 7, and open registration begins April 24.
- Please note: Be sure to contact your College or Department Office with questions on adding or dropping a Summer Session 2022 online class.

Steps to Success in an Online Class at the University of Illinois
Illinois Online and The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s promise to you is to provide a positive, rewarding and high-quality online learning experience. To be successful in your online learning environment at the University of Illinois, review the following information prior to the class start date:
- Confirm that your computer meets the technical requirements for online learning.
- Order textbooks (if applicable)
- Watch for an online course orientation email. Prior to the first day of class, you should receive an email from your instructor with information about the Learning Management System (Canvas, Learn@Illinois Moodle Service, etc.) and how to get started in your online class. The email will be sent to your University of Illinois email account. Contact your instructor directly if you do not receive this email before the start date of the class.

Non-Degree Students
Students who are not formerly admitted to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are eligible to enroll in Summer Session online classes as non-degree students. Non-degree student registration will open for Summer 2026 on April 20, 2026.
